American Cuisine in Action Through the Eyes of Czech Celebrity Chef Ondrej Slanina

On December 13, the American Center hosted a public presentation with Czech Celebrity Chef Ondrej Slanina about his participation on the IVLP MRP: Promoting Cultural Understanding through Food, Sep 10 - 28, 2012. He shared his experiences and photos with the audience. Guests appreciated his informal and amusing observations as well as his interesting insights into American multicultural society from the unique viewpoint of ethnic culinary diversity. His catering crew prepared samples of three American delicacies – gumbo, sliders and cheesecake.
On Saturday, December 15 the Czech TV presented a prime time broadcast, just before the main nightly news, Slanina’s popular show on world cuisines and culinary cultures, this time on his trip on the IVLP in the U.S. Czech TV viewers got also learned about the IVLP in general from in an interview with Cultural Attaché Sherry Keneson-Hall. The program was the highlight of the 2012 Slanina’s culinary series.
