IT and E-Government

Senator Lieberman introduced the E-Government Act of 2001, to hasten the move of government information and services to the internet. The bill became law in June 2002, and since then, the Committee has worked to oversee a number of projects aimed at leveling the playing field by providing all citizens with acceess to government information and services. In recent years, the Committee has actively followed the Administration's efforts to move the federal government's use of information technology into the 21st centiry through the IT Dashboard and FedRAMP. The Committee has also worked to improve the management of federal IT purchases.
