NIBIB 10th Anniversary

Please join us in celebrating NIBIB’s Tenth Anniversary, with events to be held in Bethesda, Maryland on Thursday evening June 21 and Friday June 22, 2012.

The first NIBIB award was made in April 2002 to a team of Yale bioengineers, neurologists, neuroimaging and computer visualization scientists, biochemists, mechanical engineers and neurosurgeons. This team has since dramatically advanced the standard of diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy using on-line, real-time, updated intra-operative biochemical and functional 3D image guidance. In this spirit we have chosen as our theme, "A Decade of Innovation for Health".

A dinner on June 21, 2012, in the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center will initiate the commemoration. The featured dinner speaker will be Robert Bazell, NBC News’ Chief Science and Health Correspondent. One of the earliest NIBIB champions, C. Douglas Maynard, MD, Professor Emeritus of Radiology, Wake Forrest University School of Medicine, and past President, Radiological Society of North America, will recount the effort to found this institute.

The Scientific Symposium will be held on June 22, 2012, in Lister Hill Center Auditorium, on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD. The program features a stellar slate of speakers from academia, industry, government, and the public.

Join us for these memorable events to mark this historic occasion.
