In partnership with the University of Florida Preservation Institute: Nantucket, NCPTT will offer a one-week workshop on masonry conservation and traditional lime mortars in Nantucket, Massachusetts, August 1-7, 2010. Participants will work with skilled and experienced masons to undertake the repair of an early-nineteenth-century structure associated with Nantucket’s famed whaling industry. The hands-on workshop will include assessment of existing conditions, site preparation, removal of inappropriate mortar, cleaning of joints, filling joints neatly, and final dressing of joints. Participants will have two free days to explore and enjoy the island. This workshop is open to preservationists, architects, students, masons and others interested in learning more about masonry conservation and lime mortars.

Who is allowed to take part in this workshop.
The class is open to people interested in learning more about masonry conservation and traditional lime mortars. Thanks for your interest.
Thanks so much for this opportunity to learn specifically what we need to preserve our stone buildings in Kansas. We would like to promote it on http://www.kansasofolde.com.
I am interested and would like as much info. as you can provide. Is there a cost for this or is it offset by providing labor needed? I have a Masonry Company on the Cape and have done restoration work On Cape, in Atlanta and in Charlotte. Most of the work I have done is on Fireplaces and Veneers. I look forward to hearing from you and would like to know what your projected attendance will be.
It’s great to see an effort being made restoring buildings like these.

Hello
I am interested in the Masonry Workshop. Will it be given in 2012. Thanks for the information.
Happy Holidays!
We do not currently have the Masonry Workshop scheduled for 2012. However, we are always looking for partners and opportunities to offer our workshops. Any ideas?
