The NRCS New York team has a strong partnership
with a wide variety of government agencies, universities, environmental groups,
professional organizations, and many others who share, and expand, upon our
mission.
Technical Service Providers
Participants of NRCS conservation programs may obtain technical assistance to
implement conservation practices from a certified Technical Service Provider.

Certified Crop Advisor training conducted by NRCS on November 30 -
December 2, 2010, included an update to
TSP requirements for the development of Conservation Activity Plans (CAP). The
contents pertaining to TSPs, from a slide presentation being shown at the training by Dale Gates, TSP
Coordinator, is
available here for your review.

Agronomic
Science Foundation (ASF) The mission of the Agronomic Science Foundation is to provide leadership and
financial resources to further the role of the agronomic, crop, and soil
sciences in global crop production, and to promote human welfare within a
sustainable environment.
American
Farmland Trust (AFT) American Farmland Trust is committed to protecting the nation's best farm
and ranch land and improving the economic viability of agriculture.
AFT works with federal, state and local leaders and communities to develop
legislation, implement policies and execute programs that keep farmers on
their land and protect our environment.
American Society of Agronomy (ASA) Members of the American Society of Agronomy are dedicated to the
conservation and wise use of natural resources to produce food, feed, and
fiber crops while maintaining and improving the environment.
Audubon New York Audubon New York is dedicated to the protection of birds, other wildlife and
their habitats through advocacy and education, serving as the state program
of the National Audubon Society.
Chesapeake Bay Program - A Watershed Partnership The Bay Program is a partnership of people and organizations, ranging from
federal and state agencies to local governments to non-profits and academic
institutions.
Crop Science Society of America (CSSA)
Ducks Unlimited Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated
habitats for North America's waterfowl.
EnviroLink The EnviroLink Network is a non-profit organization which has been providing
access to thousands of online environmental resources since 1991.
Farm*A*Syst Farm*A*Syst is a partnership between government agencies and private
business that enables you to prevent pollution on farms, ranches, and in homes using confidential environmental assessments.
Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative (GLCI) The Grazing Lands Conservation Initiative was founded to provide high
quality technical assistance on privately owned grazing lands on a voluntary basis and to increase the awareness of the importance of grazing land
resources.

National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) This mission of the
NACD is to serve conservation districts by providing national leadership and a unified voice

(NARC&DC) The National Association of Resource Conservation and
Development Councils serves as an advocate for local Councils. We assist
local Councils to identify, address and solve challenges to sustain and
improve quality of life in their own communities.
National Wild Turkey Federation
The National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF), a national nonprofit organization, is the leader in upland wildlife habitat conservation in North America
with local chapters in every state and Canada.
New England Small Farm Institute
(NESFI) The mission of the New England Small Farm Institute is to promote small farm
development by providing information and training for aspiring, beginning and transitioning farmers.

Federation of Resource Conservation and Development Area Councils Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Councils play an important role
in the conservation, development, and utilization of natural resources.

Northeast Beginning Farmer Project
(Cornell University)
The Northeast Beginning Farmer Project is colorful new Web site with a wealth of resources. The site extends high quality support to aspiring, new and diversifying farmers across the entire Northeast. The site features how-to videos for new farmers on production-oriented topics. The online hub analyzes the hurdles that challenge new farmers when trying to grow their operations. The site also has a “Guide to Farming” and you can check out the latest beginning farmer online courses which can help you turn your dreams into action right from your home computer.
Restore America's Estuaries The mission of Restore America's Estuaries is to preserve the nation's
network of estuaries by protecting and restoring the lands and waters essential to the richness and diversity of coastal life.

Nature Conservancy - The Nature Conservancy in New York The mission of the Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants,
animals, and natural communities that represent the diversity of life by
protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.
Federal Government Agencies
United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) The mission of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human
health and the environment. The EPA
leads the nation's environmental science, research, education and assessment efforts.
USDA Agricultural Marketing Service
(AMS) The Agricultural Marketing Service administers programs that facilitate the
efficient, fair marketing of U.S. agricultural products, including food, fiber, and specialty crops.
USDA Agricultural Research
Service (ARS) The Agricultural Research Service vision is to lead America towards a better
future through agricultural research and information.
USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service provides leadership in
ensuring the health and care of animals and plants. The agency improves agricultural productivity and competitiveness and contributes to the
national economy and the public health.
USDA Economic Research Service (ERS) The Economic Research Service is a primary source of economic information
and research in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. ERS conducts a research
program to inform public and private decision making on economic and policy issues involving food, farming, natural resources, and rural development.

Farm Service Agency (FSA) The Farm Service Agency administers and manages farm commodity, credit,
conservation, disaster and loan programs as laid out by Congress through a network of federal, state and county offices.
USDA Food and Nutrition Service
(FNS) The Food and Nutrition Service administers the nutrition assistance programs
of the USDA. The mission of FNS is to provide children and needy families
better access to food and a more healthful diet through its food assistance programs and comprehensive nutrition education efforts.

(FAS) The Foreign Agricultural Service works to improve foreign market access for U.S. products, build new
markets, improve the competitive position of U.S. agriculture in the global
marketplace, and provide food aid and technical assistance to foreign countries.
USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) - New
York Office of USDA's NASS The National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) conducts hundreds of surveys every
year and prepares reports covering virtually every aspect of U.S. agriculture. Production and supplies of food and fiber, prices paid and
received by farmers, farm labor and wages, farm finances, chemical use, and changes in the demographics of U.S. producers are only a few examples.
USDA Risk Management Agency (RMA) The Risk Management Agency promotes, supports and regulates sound risk
management solutions to preserve and strengthen the economic stability of America's agricultural producers.
USDA Rural Development (RD) The Rural Development mission is to help rural Americans to improve the quality of their lives.
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers serves the Armed Forces and the Nation by
providing vital engineering services and capabilities, as a public service,
