The Information Resource Center (IRC) located at the American Center in Vilnius is part of a network of IRCs operated throughout the world by the U. S. Department of State. Its role is to make available accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information about the United States. Through access to electronic databases, as well as a collection of reference materials and current periodicals in both paper and CD ROM format, the IRC staff provides rapid delivery of information about the U.S. to Lithuanian Government institutions, media representatives and academic researchers.
The book collection provides materials on American Studies with emphasis on political science, economics, government, law, American history, American literature, culture and society. The reference collection contains works relevant to these disciplines.
