Col. Dieter E. Bareihs is commander of the 80th Flying Training Wing which conducts the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program, the world's only internationally manned and managed Undergraduate Pilot Training program. Thirteen NATO nations participate: Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Colonel Bareihs entered the Air Force in 1989 and earned his pilot wings as a graduate from Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training. He graduated from F-16 Weapons School Class 98AIF where he was the recipient of the Weapons School F-16 Division's academic and flying award. His previous assignments include: Chief of Staff of The Air Force Fellow, Joint Staff Pakistan-Afghanistan Coordination Cell, The Pentagon; Director of Operations United States Air Forces Central, Al Udeid Air Base; Commander and Director of Operations, 18th Fighter Squadron, Eielson AFB, AK; Director of Operations, F-16 Division, United States Air Force Weapons School; and F-16 Instructor Pilot, Flight Examiner, Flight Commander, Chief of Weapons and Tactics, and Safety Officer at various locations.

A command pilot with over 3,000 total flight hours, he has flown over 180 combat hours in the F-16.
