Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Tom Vilsack, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture designated Torrance County, New Mexico as a primary natural disaster area due to drought. In addition, the Secretary named Bernalillo, Guadalupe, Lincoln, San Miguel, Santa Fe, Socorro, and Valencia counties as contiguous disaster counties.

Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Tom Vilsack, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture named 19 New Mexico counties as primary natural disaster areas due to drought, including Santa Fe County which is partially in Congressional District 1. In addition, the Secretary named 9 contiguous disaster counties, including Bernalillo, Sandoval, Torrance and Valencia, all of which have portions in the 1st District.
