The Inspector General testified before the House Transportation and Infrastructure Aviation Subcommittee regarding challenges facing the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), in implementing the Aviation and Transportation Security Act. The IG said the agency is making progress but faces significant efforts in the following areas: Installing explosives detection systems to screen all check baggage; hiring a workforce; and addressing budget challenges.
