The purpose of the Contraception and Infertility Research LRP is to recruit and retain highly qualified health and/or allied health
professionals as contraception and/or infertility investigators.

Program Eligibility
- Meet general eligibility requirements of the LRPs outlined in the eligibility section of the site
- Be a qualified health and/or allied health professional, such as a physician, Ph.D.-level scientist, nurse, physician assistant,
graduate student, or postgraduate research fellow training in a health profession
- Engage in one of the following:
- Employment/training at a National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) extramural laboratory
- Qualifying research funded by a domestic nonprofit institution (tax exempt under 26 U.S.C. 501) or federal, state, or local government entity
Definitions
Infertility Research
Research that has the long-range objectives of evaluating, treating, or ameliorating conditions that result in the failure of couples to either
conceive or bear young.
Contraception Research
Research that has the ultimate goal of providing new or improved methods of preventing pregnancy.
