Program Analyst

Eli Levine joined ARPA-E as a Presidential Management Fellow to work as a Program Analyst within the organization's Budget Department. He also works in the Office of Legal Counsel and on Congressional/Legislative Affairs issue areas. Prior to law school, Levine worked as a Legislative Assistant for the non-profit Americans United for Separation of Church and State in Washington D.C. and on various political campaigns.

Program Director

Dr. Ping Liu currently serves as a Program Director at the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E). His main focuses include advanced materials for energy efficiency and energy conversion and storage. Dr. Liu was previously Manager of Energy Technology at HRL Laboratories, an industrial research company jointly owned by the Boeing Company and General Motors.

Assistant Director for External Coordination

Peder Maarbjerg currently serves as the Assistant Director for External Coordination at ARPA-E and is responsible for legislative and public policy outreach. Prior to joining ARPA-E, Maarbjerg served as Senior Policy Fellow at the U.S. Nuclear Infrastructure Council, where he researched legislative and policy trends, with a focus on administrative law and budget policy.

Technology to Market Advisor

Sven Mumme is a Technology-to-Market Advisor at the Advanced Research Projects Agency–Energy (ARPA-E). He is responsible for leading the path to market approach for the Methane Opportunities for Vehicular Energy (MOVE) program and a variety of building efficiency and energy storage projects from the Open 2012 program, in addition to assisting in a wide range of other ARPA-E Technology-to-Market efforts intended to prepare breakthrough energy technologies for the transition from lab to market.

Program Analyst

Brian Plunkett is a Program Analyst within ARPA-E’s Office of the Chief Counsel and a 2011 Presidential Management Fellow. During law school, Plunkett completed clerkships at EPA’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, EPA Region 2’s Office of Regional Counsel, and the Office of General Counsel for the District Department of the Environment.

Fellow

Dr. William Regan is an ARPA-E Fellow interested in novel renewable electricity generation and storage technologies. Dr. Regan received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, under the direction of Professor Alex Zettl. He was named an Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation Fellow and a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellow.

Fellow

Dr. Elizabeth Santori is an ARPA-E fellow, focusing on technologies for improving building efficiency, as well as on solar energy technologies. Dr. Santori completed a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the California Institute of Technology under Professor Nathan Lewis. Her doctoral research focused on the fabrication and characterization of silicon microwire arrays, an emerging solar energy technology for photovoltaic and artificial photosynthetic devices.

Program Analyst

Michael Saretsky is a Program Analyst within ARPA-E’s Office of the Chief Counsel and a 2010 Presidential Management Fellow. During law school, Saretsky completed clerkships at the Office of the General Counsel at NASA Headquarters; the Center for International Environmental Law in Geneva, Switzerland; the Air and Water Enforcement Divisions of the Environment Protection Agency’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance; and the Environmental Enforcement Section within the Department of Justice's Environment and Natural Resources Division.

Assistant Program Director

Karma Sawyer is an Assistant Program Director and is responsible for the ARPA-E’s Innovative Materials and Processes for Advanced Carbon Capture Technologies (IMPACCT) program. In addition to CO2 capture technologies, Sawyer is interested in zero-carbon emissions, O2 separation technologies and thermal storage.

Fellow

Dr. Amul D. Tevar is an ARPA-E Fellow who is working in energy storage, control systems (AMPED) and other emerging energy areas. Before joining the ARPA-E team, Tevar received his Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
