Ability to install, upgrade, administer and trouble-shoot UNIX-based operating systems in the office environment.

Description of Need

To maintain the UNIX software environment for office PCs and workstation in support of NWS operations, administration, and developmental requirements.

Specific Job Task Skills and Knowledge

1. Understand the UNIX environment and the ability to work within it.

2. Install and configure UNIX O/S(s) on various platforms.

3. Ability to install applications under various UNIX O/S(s).

4. Ability to troubleshoot UNIX O/S problems.

5. Ability to perform UNIX system administration functions.
