Welcome to Kenner Army Health Clinic

Welcome to Kenner Army Health Clinic

On behalf of the Command, staff, Soldiers, and civilians of Kenner Army Health Clinic (KAHC), I would like to welcome you to Fort Lee, home of the service members and civilians who "Feed You, Fuel You, and Supply You," from the Garrison to the Battlefield.  Fort Lee is a bustling community and Kenner is growing to meet the current and future needs of our Soldiers and their families.  We are part of the Northern Regional Medical Command and partner with HealthNet, our Managed Care Support Contractor, to deliver a full array of primary and specialty care to meet your healthcare needs.

In the last year, the Active Duty Clinic and Preventive Medicine section have moved into entirely new and state-of-the-art locations.  Behavioral Health has similarly moved into a new area on our third floor.  Even our exterior has recently received a very thorough face lift.  The current Troop Medical Clinic (TMC) has just been expanded, and plans are well underway to open a second TMC in summer 2011.

Kenner now has more primary care and behavioral health providers, and has recently added Internal Medicine and Dermatology services.  In the immediate future, you will be able to book appointments directly through Kenner’s own Patient Appointment Center, and contact a Nurse Advice Line for after-hours medical advice.  We are constantly trying to serve you better.

Our vision is to be a center of excellence for Primary Care, supporting readiness and providing optimal health care for our beneficiaries.  We are very proud of the perfect score we received during our most recent Joint Commission Survey, and we hope this demonstrates just how seriously we care about taking care of you.

We value your input and active participation in your healthcare, and welcome any comments you might have about any of our services.  Please do not hesitate to contact us about any issue that might apply to you or your family’s well-being.  We look forward to serving you.

KAHC received its name from General Albert W. Kenner, who grew up in Virginia and graduated from George Washington University. He served as a medical officer with the First Infantry Division in France in World War I. During his tour, he was wounded in action and cited for gallantry during that campaign. During World War II, MG Kenner was the Chief Surgeon for Operation Torch, the amphibious landings at Casablanca in 1942.  Operation Torch is distinguished as the longest transport over water by an invasion force, since the troop convoys formed on America’s east cost, crossed the Atlantic Ocean (infested with German U-boats), and completed a coordinated attack by British and American forces on the northern coast of Africa.  Based on his experiences and demonstrated leadership, MG Kenner was named Chief Medical Officer for Operation Overlord, the allied landings in Normandy, France on 6 June 1944. He continued his service as the first European Theater Surgeon immediately following cessation of hostilities in Europe and retired from active duty in 1952.
