The Government of Turkmenistan’s visa application process can be relatively lengthy, so we encourage you to apply as early as possible.

If you need visa assistance, please fill out the Visa Section of the Registration Form. The deadline for registration and requesting visa assistance is April 19, 2012.

After you submit the registration form, the Embassy will request a letter of invitation (LOI) for you from the State Migration Service of Turkmenistan. The LOI Request fee is $100 per person. After the LOI is issued by the State Migration Service, usually in ten (10) business days of the request, we will email a scanned copy of the LOI to you. After you receive your LOI, you should complete and submit a visa application, to include a copy of the LOI, to the nearest Embassy of Turkmenistan in order to obtain a visa. We encourage you to initiate this LOI process as quickly as possible. The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Washington D.C., for example, notes that its consular section requires 5-10 business days to process a visa application. Additional information regarding the visa process may be found on the Embassy of Turkmenistan’s consular webpage:  http://www.turkmenistanembassy.org/turkmen/info/visainfo.html. 

If time does not permit you to obtain a visa in advance, you may bring a copy of the LOI with you and obtain a visa upon arrival at the Ashgabat airport.
