U.S. Ambassador Alejandro Wolff congratulates Chile

We congratulate the Government and people of Chile for their extraordinary efforts to rescue all 33 miners safely from the San Jose mine. As President Obama said, the operation was a tribute not only to the determination of the rescue workers and the Chilean government, but also the unity and resolve of the Chilean people who inspired the world.  We are pleased to have been able to join with others in the international community in support of the Government of Chile during this heroic effort and are proud of all of the Americans who worked with our Chilean friends on the ground to bring the miners home.
