New Park in Trujillo, Valle will Help Community Reestablish their Dreams

A new park named Recreando Vida (Recreating Life) opened on March 26 in Trujillo, Valle as part of the support provided by the United States towards the reconstruction of the social fabric of this municipality hit so hard by violence.  The new community space that will benefit 450 people in Trujillo, is the result of working directly with its community; currently in the process of defining itself and initiating projects from collective proposals, to give its inhabitants a new sense of belonging and contributing towards improving their lives.

USAID provided US$25,000 to fund this project. The park was built with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). U.S. resources were directed towards the institutional strengthening of public organizations responsible for defining public policies to minimize the negative impact of violence against civil society.
