JSA, LLC, is the managing and operating contractor of the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science. This nuclear physics user facility enables the international user community to conduct outstanding scientific research. JSA is a partnership between the Southeastern Universities Research Association, Inc., (SURA) and PAE Applied Technologies.
JSA is committed to achieving Department of Energy science goals through a disciplined approach to laboratory operations and business management that will transform the delivery of discovery-level science for the nuclear physics user community. JSA works with the DOE Office of Science and the Office of Nuclear Physics to complete the 12 GeV Upgrade.
JSA's management approach adapts industry best practices in project management to a laboratory research environment to deliver efficiencies that will result in additional resources for science. Using proven Lab processes for prioritizing research in concert with the international scientific nuclear physics user community and supplemented by performance-based project management systems and procedures, JSA will effectively and safely deliver discovery potential science in a budget-constrained environment.
JSA manages and operates the Jefferson Lab for the U.S. Department of Energy.
