Overall, the State-of-the-Art Reactor Consequence Analyses (SOARCA) process includes five general steps, as illustrated in the flowchart to the right. See the following pages for discussions of the methods and rationale that the project team uses in each step to determine the realistic consequences of the select severe accident scenarios:
