GOA, India -- USS Chosin and USS
Milius arrived here today for a scheduled port visit.
While in port, the ships' crew members will participate in friendship
building activities, meet local citizens, and experience local customs
and traditions.
USS Chosin, a 9,600-ton Ticonderoga class cruiser, is commanded by
Captain Steven A. Lott and is home-ported in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. USS
Milius, an 8,315-ton Arleigh-Burke class destroyer, is commanded by
Commander Edmund B. Hernandez and is home-ported in San Diego,
California. Both ships are currently operating in the Pacific and
Indian Oceans as a part of the U.S. Seventh Fleet.
Operating in the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, the U.S. Seventh
Fleet is the largest of the forward-deployed U.S. Fleets, with
approximately 50 ships, 120 aircraft and 20,000 sailors and marines
assigned at any given time.
