Understanding the Fiscal Cliff
Posted by on November 30, 2012

Dear Friend,

There has been a lot of talk about a “fiscal cliff” that could occur in the next month or so.  The so-called “cliff” is a combination of expiring tax cuts and deep, across-the-board spending cuts that will take place in January 2013.

Solving our nation’s fiscal problems is going to require some real political courage and some tough decisions. It means that members of the House and Senate and the White House must move beyond the campaign rhetoric and get to work addressing the fiscal mess we are now facing.

The reality of the political situation in Washington is that there will continue to be a divided government in Washington over the next two years.  Yet, continued gridlock and stalemate will have serious consequences lasting for many years.

The threat that the fiscal cliff poses to our economy is too great to ignore.  The economic future of our country, and that of our children and our grandchildren, is ultimately at stake.

Understanding this cliff and how it could impact our lives and businesses is critical to this discussion.   So, over the course of the next two weeks, I will be sending you several emails containing important facts about the fiscal cliff, government spending, and federal taxes.  My hope is that these emails will give you a better understanding of what is going on and what is really at stake.

I will also keep you updated as the situation unfolds and developments occur.  As always, I am interested in your feedback and your suggestions on this topic or any other that matters to you.  I hope you will contact me with your opinion via phone, email, letter, website, or Facebook.

Sincerely,

Mac

Dramatic spending cuts are needed to address this matter with savings spent on debt.

Pass the Bill guaranteeing 98% of the country a Tax Break in 2013. The Bill has already passed the Senate and is ready to be passed by the House. The Election of Barack Obama as President for 4 more years has made it very clear that the majority of the voters want the Bill passed. The Republicans have lost the election and the debate, so do as the people have mandated. Do it before Christmas so the people will know where they stand with the New Year. We're counting on you to do your job and do the Will of the People.

What is most important is to CUT SPENDING first, before anything.

Thank you Mac and I would like to express my opinion on the brutal treatment of the wild mustangs and burros that are being brutaly chased by helicopters and trapped, seperated from their bands and the babies that will be dying because they have no mother with them. It would warm my heart if you could listen in and to, those that wish do stop the carnage of this American Icon that so many care about. Even Mrs. Pickens has been involved with theBLM but cannot seem to get any farther than other rescue groups calling for a halt to what the video's show of the torture these animals go through before they are shipped off to holding corrals and in trucks to mexico for slaughter. Please, this is happening in several states as I write this, but I have only a voice to help, you have a presence and an arm that can reach out to see why this man in charge will not stand down or change his ways . Thank you for listening, thank you for being in Texas and washington for us! Lets change the world and the face of governing that we are straining through before it is too late!
