Education
- B.S. Geology - University of Wisconsin-Madison (2000)
Areas of Expertise
- Wisconsin water use and water-use science, including developing methods for quantifying groundwater withdrawals and improve our understanding of how water is used in order to meet current and future demands
- USGS Aggregate Water-Use and Site-Specific Water-Use Database Systems
- USGS GWSI Groundwater Site Inventory (including site establishment, data entry, and data retrieval)
- GIS application with focus on hydrological topics for the Regional and National Assessment Team and the Groundwater Systems Team
- Provide data and GIS support for regional hydrogeologic investigations, specifically groundwater-flow models
- Data support – train and assist in project and data needs assessment and data collection, organization, analysis, management, and dissemination
Current Projects
- Responsible for compiling, analyzing and disseminating the Wisconsin’s water-use data as part of the Wisconsin and National Water-Use Information Programs (currently preparing for the 2010 water-use compilation)
- Working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) Water Use Section to develop data model for Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River Basin Water Resources Compact water-use database and provide input on administrative rule development about consumptive water use
- Member of the National assessment on the availability and use of water resources within the Great Lakes Basin
- Developing GIS methods to automate process for creating Wisconsin’s Lakeshed Delineation Dataset to support the Midwest Glacial Lakes Partnership
- Participate on various regional hydrogeologic investigations providing research, database, and GIS support (such as Southeastern Wisconsin, Rock River Basin, and Lower St. Croix Subbasin)
- Member of Wisconsin’s Groundwater Coordinating Council Data Work Group
