VA for Vets is pleased to provide professional coaching services to VA’s National Guard and Reserve employees―and the supervisors and HR professionals who assist them.
What is a coach?
Your coach is an advisor, partner, and key point of contact available and ready to answer your deployment and reintegration questions and to provide support before, during and after military service.
Your coach remains your single point of contact throughout the deployment lifecycle. When you reach out for support, you can also invite your supervisor and HR professional to join the conversation for full-circle team discussions.

How does coaching work?
Coaches can be reached by phone, email, and through the virtual collaboration space. During the initial coaching session, your personal coach will assess your specific career-related needs.
Together, you will develop a plan of action for you to execute. You will continue to meet with your coach to re-evaluate your plan of action and discuss any additional questions or concerns you may have. In addition, your coach may direct you to service-specific resources and local agencies to bolster your support system.
Getting Started
- Call 1-855-VA4VETS (1-855-824-8387, TTY: 1-855-824-8833) or complete the Request a Coach Form to have a coach assigned to you. Based on your unique situation, a Veteran service representative will connect you to a coach who can address your needs.
- Connect with your new coach to discuss your questions about deployment, reintegration or your VA career. Together, you will assess your specific needs and develop a personal action plan.
- Reach out to your coach as often as needed to touch base on your progress or to ask additional questions.
- Invite your supervisor and/or HR professional to join the conversation.
