The Major Land Resource Area Soil Survey Region 13 (MO-13) office, located in
Morgantown, West Virginia, is one of
18 Soil Survey Region
Offices serving the National Cooperative Soil Survey in the United States.
The Appalachian and Interior Plateaus Soil Survey Region is comprised of ten
Major Land Resource Areas
(MLRAs). Major land resource areas are made up of geographically-associated
land resource units that are similar in physiography, climate, water resources,
and soils.

The entire states of Delaware and Maryland, and portions of Kentucky, New
Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia are
located within MO-13. The MO-13 staff at Morgantown provides technical guidance
and support to seven soil survey offices in the region.
