The Courier Service

In the interests of security and expediency, the U.S. Embassy has entered into a contract with Secure Mail Services Ltd, a private courier company, operating under the brand-name DX Secure which is part of the DX Group to provide courier services to the Consular Section.  

Nonimmigrant and Immigrant Visa Applicants Applying in Person

Nonimmigant and Immigrant visa applicant who attend the Embassy in person for an interview with a consular officer will have their passports returned to them by DX Secure; there is no other method of delivery available. The service can be purchased from a DX Secure representative at the Embassy on the day of the interview. Fees for this service begin at £14:50, payable by debit or credit card only. Next workday delivery is available for most areas of the United Kingdom once the passport has been released to the courier company. Further information will be available from the DX Secure representative on the day of your interview.

Nonimmigrant Visa Applicants Not Required to Apply in Person

Applicants under the age of 14 or those aged 80 or over are generally not required to appear in person and may use the services of DX Secure to submit their application.   Note:  Please check your eligibility to apply for a visa through the courier service before contacting DX Secure.  If you are not eligible to submit your application by courier, it will be returned to you unprocessed.  See "DX Secure Collection and Delivery Service" for further information.  

Nonimmigrant and Immigrant Visa applicants whose application has been suspended under Section 221(g)

Nonimmigrant and Immigrant visa applicants whose application has been suspended under Secton 221(g) INA and are required to furnish additional documents in support of their visa application, or applicants who have been contacted to submit their passport for visa issuance, should refer to "DX Secure Collection and Delivery Service" for further information.
