Airman Lara, a mental health clinic technician, briefed mall patrons on ways of spotting and preventing suicides. The information booth was set up all week in support of Suicide Prevention month. Maggie arrives at her new home
SAN ANDREAS, Calif. -- Female African elephants go to Pat Derby at the Performing Animals Welfare Society, or PAWS. The elephants will become companions of Maggie, a 25-year-old African elephant, who left Alaska Thursday on a journey from Anchorage to California aboard an Air Force C-17 Globemaster III. Maggie's trainers from the Alaska Zoo, who traveled with her, will stay for several weeks to help her adjust to life in the sanctuary. Derby is a co-founder and president of PAWS. ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Maj.
