Business/Economic Development Recognition/Awards

It is an honor to represent the people of Idaho. It is my goal to do so in a manner that reflects the values and traditions of Idahoans. During the course of my public service, I have been fortunate to be recognized by many tremendous organizations. Many of these awards are based on my voting record, and my efforts to serve the people of Idaho.

My philosophy on business and economic matters is firmly rooted in the free and open market. We must find the economic paths that work best for our communities; that includes favorable tax rates, international trade policies and federal budget goals. Below you will find listed the awards I have received for my efforts regarding business and economic development:

	Gold Mouse Award Awarded by the Congressional Management Foundation for the 112th Congress. Presented in recognition of the official website as one of the Best Web Sites on Capitol Hill.
	ABC Champion of the Merit Shop Awarded in 112th, 111th, 110th, 109th, 108th, 107th, 106th, 105th, 104th and 103rd Congresses by the Associated Builders and Contractors. Presented to members of Congress who exhibit the "Merit Shop" philosophy, a term to describe a method of doing business that rewards people based on their skills, knowledge and abilities, not on their membership or ranking in an organization or group.

	2010 Legislator of the Year Awarded in the 111th Congress by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITIC). Presented annually to members of Congress who emerge as champions for preserving and expanding U.S. leadership in information and communications technology.

	Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence Awarded in the 111th, 110th, 109th and 106th Congress by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) Presented to members of Congress with a rating of 70% or higher on floor votes in favor of manufacturing; Senator Crapo scored 89% in support of domestic oil exploration, transportation, energy policy, small business issues, taxes and Supreme Court confirmations.

Champion of the Entrepreneur Awarded by Small Business & Entrepreneurship (SBE) Council in 2010. Presented in recognition of voting record that demonstrates listening to the job-creating sector and supporting its priorities.

	Abraham Lincoln Leadership Award Awarded by the Property Casualty Insurers (PCI) Association in 2010. Presented in recognition of efforts to promote and protect the viability of a competitive private insurance market for the benefit of consumers and insurers.

	Silver Mouse Award Awarded by the Congressional Management Foundation in 2010 and 2007 Presented in recognition of the official website as one of the Best Web Sites on Capitol Hill.

	Senator Henry "Scoop" Jackson Memorial Award Awarded June 2010 by the Shuvu Schools Network. Presented for support of Israel and legislation to promote democracy and U.S. national security interests related to Israel.

	Small Business Advocate Award/Champion of Small Business Awarded in 108th and 106th Congresses, and 2000 by the Small Business Survival Committee, a leading small business advocacy organization. Presented for support of small business endeavors and legislation that ensures small business survival.

	Guardian of Small Business Award Awarded consistently for 1112th, 111th, 110th, 109th, 108th, 107th, 106th, 105th, 104th and 103rd Congresses by the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) Presented to Members of Congress who are champions of small business and stand strong on key small business votes. The award reflects support for the pro-growth agenda for small business.

	The Thomas Jefferson Award Awarded 2010, 2008, 2006, 2004, 1998, 1996 and 1994 by the National Association of Wholesale Grocers- International Food Service Distributors Association (NAWG-IFDA) For commitment to free enterprise through votes on issues such as taxes, free trade, labor policy and other economic matters. Recipients supported the IFDA's position on at least 70 percent of votes deemed critical to the Jeffersonian ideals of free enterprise and the foodservice distribution industry.

	Benjamin Franklin Public Policy Award Awarded by the National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) consistently for each Congress since 2003 (107th, 108th and 109th). Presented for support and leadership in protecting the free and open market business environment.

	SBEA Special Achievement Award Awarded October 2007 by the Small Business Exporters Association of the United States (SBEA) Presented in appreciation of service in assisting the nation’s smaller exporting companies, while reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank of the United States.

	Superior Rating, 109th Congressional Voting Scorecard Awarded October 2006 by Contract Services Association of America. For supporting an effective and efficient Federal Government through service contracting.

	Friend of Shortline Railroad Customer Award Awarded in 2006 by Great Northwest Railroad For support of shortline railroads during the 109th Congress.

	Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act award for 2003 Awarded in 2003 by The Financial Services Round Table For leadership in achieving passage of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003, PL 108-159.

	Community Connection Award Awarded 2000 by the American Cable Association Presented for support in ensuring that rural and small town residents have reliable and reasonably-priced telecommunications.

	The Sentinel Award Awarded in 1999 by the American Society of Association Executives Presented to members of Congerss who "prove forthright leadership in the advancement of the association."

"Friend of the Shareholder Award" Awarded in the 108th and 107th Congresses by the American Shareholder's Association For supporting investor interests on important shareholder and economic issues.

NADO Congressional Partnership Award Awarded in 109th Congress (2005-2006) by the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO) ; nominated by the Southeast Idaho Council of Governments (SEICOG) Presented for support of federal legislation advocating regional solutions to local programs.

Guardian of Worker Freedom Awarded in 2006 and 2005 by the Alliance for Worker Freedom, a conservative labor reform group. Presented to members of Congress who vote 80% or higher in support of labor issues tracked by AWF. Award is in recognition of support for freedom and opportunity in the workplace, and included votes on minimum wage increases, private sector "competitive sourcing" of government employees, CAFTA, OSHA reform and pro-labor market immigration reform.

Legislative Award Presented 2003 by the American Council of Renewable Energy

Economic Development Award Awarded in 2003 by SICOG (Southeastern Idaho Council of Government) Presented for support of Idaho's economic interests.

BIPAC Prosperity Project 2000 Awarded in 106th Congress by the Business-Industry Political Action Committee (BIPAC). Presented for assistance in a project that encouraged businesses to becom einvolved in the political process. Senator Crapo also achieved a 100% Award during the 1st session of the 106th Congress (1999).

President's Award Awarded in 1996 by the Idaho Cable Telecommunications Association (ICTA). Presented for support of the telecommunications industry.
