Washington D.C. – February 7, 2013 – U.S. Representative Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) announced today he will co-sponsor legislation to give control of federally regulated shorelines to the states instead of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). “The counties involved in Oklahoma’s Grand Lake Watershed know what is best for their economic viability and future growth, not a bureaucrat in an office far away, who may have never stepped foot in Northeastern Oklahoma,” said Mullin. “This is exactly the kind of common sense legislation I came to Washington to fight for.”

Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) today announced a series of Town Hall events scheduled to take place the February 18th – 20th 2013. This tour comes just weeks after a Town Hall tour that brought Congressman Mullin to 16 Counties in four days at the end of January. Congressman Mullin offered the following comment on his recent travels throughout the Second District: “I want to be accessible and constantly seeking input from the Oklahomans I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to represent. I want to encourage active participation in these town hall meetings,” said Mullin. “I represent the people in the People’s House. That means it’s also the people’s responsibility to stay in contact and stay engaged.”

On Monday, January 28th, 2013 Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) held his first Telephone Town Hall event speaking with constituents across the 2nd District. In total 8,049 constituents were able to participate in the hour long call. A variety of questions were asked on current issues including Second Amendment rights, the federal budget, national debt and veterans care, among many others.
