Ms. von Ness has held a variety of management and staff positions throughout her Department of Defense career to include: Child Development Services Coordinator, HQ 21st SUPCOM, Kaiserslautern, Germany; Deputy Director, Personnel & Administration, 54th Area Support, Rheinberg, Germany; Assistant Director, Community and Family Activities, Goeppingen Military Community, Goeppingen, Germany; Chief, Executive Leadership & Community Affairs Division, HQ, V Corps, Frankfurt, Germany; Director, Personnel & Community Activities, 416th Base Support Battalion, Frankfurt, Germany, 80th Area Support Group, Chievres, Belgium, and Fort Myer Military Community, Fort Myer, Virginia; Deputy to the Garrison Commander, 80th Area Support Group, Chievres, Belgium and Fort Myer Military Community, Fort Myer, Virginia.

Prior to this assignment, Ms. von Ness attended the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania where she received a Master of Strategic Studies. Ms. von Ness also holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Radford College, Radford, Virginia and a Master of Public Administration from Shippensburg University, Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.

Ms. von Ness’ awards include the Superior Civilian Service Award and Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.
