Homestead Air Reserve Base is located in Southern Florida and its history dates to World War II when it was originally opened as Homestead Army Air Field to serve as a maintenance and fueling stopover for aircraft headed overseas. Throughout the years there have been many changes, but the hallmark of pride, professionalism and service to country has remained steadfast.  The host unit at Homestead Air Reserve Base is Air Force Reserve Command's 482nd Fighter Wing.
