So far for our Pic of the Week series, we’ve taken all of the pictures ourselves. This week we are featuring a photo from a Library of Congress colleague, Dan Chudnov. Washington really looks wonderful in the spring, and this picture demonstrates the reawakening that occurs. In addition to the trees blooming, our city fills up with tourists. One reason is the start of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, which starts tomorrow. If you’re in town for it or any of the numerous conferences, be sure to visit us here in the Law Library of Congress.
And if you have photos that you’d like to be our Pic of the Week, let us know!

Beautiful! I would love to make a print of this for my office. Is there a way to get permission for personal use?

We have 1200 cherry tress planted here at Lake Balboa, Van Nuys, CA, as a kind and generous gift from Japan. Although these trees are not as old as those in Washington, I look forward to the day when our trees grow as beautifully as your’s in Washington.
