U.S. ARMY PRELIMINARY LOSS REPORTS (PLRs)

The U.S. Army Combat Readiness/Safety Center provides Army leaders with "actionable knowledge," real-time information about accidental fatalities approved for release by the USACR/SAFETY CENTER. This information is provided to general officers, brigade commanders, select Sergeants Majors and the Safety Community in the form of  Preliminary Loss Reports (PLRs) and broadcast through digital reporting. Within 48 hours of the loss, the PLRs provide a synopsis of the incident: Unit, date of loss, description of the activity at the time of the death. Statistics reflecting other Army losses in this type of activity for a designated period are noted. Engagement Tips for Leaders and a purpose statement and method to provide feedback are included. The PLR does not identify root causes of the accident, as the investigation is ongoing. Further details will be available at a later date on RMIS (account required). Learn more - FAQs
