On February 22, 2011, U.S. Consular Officer Mr. Philip Cargile and three U.S. Government (USG) funded exchange and scholarship program alumni visited the Institute of Finance and Economics to speak about student visas and procedures as well as opportunities for Mongolians to participate in USG funded programs.  A large number of interested students and faculty turned up for the meeting and asked a wide variety of questions.  After Consul Cargile’s talk, Humphrey program alumna Ms. Dolgormaa gave a presentation about the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship program that she participated in and about several other scholarship and short-term professional development and exchange programs for university faculty.  Following her presentation, two alumni of the Global Undergraduate Exchange program, Miss Ulziimaa and Miss Khuslen, talked about their experience of participating in the program and shared some helpful hints for preparing and applying for scholarship programs. The Embassy and the alumni are planning four more similar lectures in March at the following universities:

Mongolian International School of Business and Economics, Mongolian Health Sciences University, State University of Agriculture, and the National University of Mongolia.
