7th Battalion, Western Sector, USMEPCOM

The 7th Battalion commander also serves as the commander of the San Diego Military Entrance Processing Station and is responsible for the command and control of the Los Angeles, Phoenix, Sacramento, San Diego and San Jose Military Entrance Processing Stations.

USMEPCOM established battalions on April 15, 2011, to bring the command in line with established military standards for command span of control, to facilitate stronger mentoring for MEPS commanders and senior enlisted advisors, and to improve coordination and cooperation between USMEPCOM and the Interservice Recruiting Committees.
