Beginning March 22, the Consular Section of the United States Embassy in Belgrade will require the new, online visa application form (DS-160) for all applicants. The new electronic form is more eco-friendly, as it requires that applicants print out and bring only a single confirmation page to their interview (currently, applicants must provide 3-5 pages). Additionally, the new form is more comprehensive than the current form and will allow consular officers to more quickly and accurately assess an applicant’s visa eligibility, which will shorten the length of visa interviews.

For over a year now, Embassy Belgrade has been streamlining the visa application process, making it possible for many applicants to get a visa without a personal interview. The comprehensive format of the DS-160 form should help consular officers determine more precisely which applicants need not appear for a personal interview, making visa services even simpler for many applicants.
