The U.S. Embassy organized an Election Night event at the Belgrade Media Center on November 4. More than seventy journalists and several hundred guests were able to watch the latest U.S. election news on video screens, participate in web chats and blogs with specialists from Washington, check election-related online sources on several computers, take part in an Election Quiz, "vote" for their favorite candidate, and monitor the latest results during the evening-long program. Hundreds of IIP publications, posters, buttons, and other election-related promotional materials were distributed to the attendees.

Ambassador Cameron Munter, pleased to see the tremendous interest in the U.S. presidential election and huge attendance, addressed the guests saying that "the U.S. policy of partnership and friendship with Serbia will continue after the elections." Serbian electronic and print media provided extensive media coverage of the Embassy's "Election Night 2008."
