Passports
To better serve our American citizen community in Panama, the U.S. Embassy’s American Citizen Services Unit uses an appointment system for most non-emergency passport and citizenship services. All individuals will need to make an appointment online. Be advised that an individual appointment should be made for each family member seeking a service related to passports.
Passport Services are provided as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 8:00 am - 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Wednesday: 8:00 am – 12:00 noon
Friday: 8:00 am – 10:00 am
The section is closed on Panamanian and U.S. holidays.
All passports are printed in the United States and shipped to the Embassy within three weeks of approval of the application. To avoid delays or disruption in travel plans, we urge passport applicants to apply early for new passports and to allow adequate time for processing.
