Democracy Video Challenge 2010 Winner: Adhyatmika

Adhyatmika

Adhyatmika

Adhyatmika sees film as a medium that transcends geography, race and age.

Born in Jakarta, Adhyatmika is a graduate of the Puttnam School of Film, Lasalle College of The Arts in Singapore. He developed a passion for filmmaking while still in high school and his work has since been featured at international film festivals.

Intrigued by the Democracy Video Challenge topic, Adhyatmika said democracy is a subjective term that is not easily defined. He “played around” with the idea and “created a rather surreal satirical comedy about democratic life in Indonesia….Democracy is not a thing,” he said, “it’s a process.”

  1. i will also like to share my view about the topic “DEMOCRACY”. as it has always been defined the way of government by the people. with the people and for the people. thus the view of the people are take into consideration b4 policies and hypothesis are implemented. this is not to say that it the level of gov.whereby individual feeling and sentiment are putting into consideration but the interest for all.

  2. I understand democracy a per beginning not an end goal. where a bus that was brought by the driver’s steering wheel to reach the safety of passengers, a different place and purpose, na bus but it is a symbol or a manifestation of unity, in which there are different individuals, democracy is nothing but a place where individuals deliberations these.
