U.S. Senator Mark Pryor released the following statement regarding the Senate passage of the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act, a bipartisan bill that holds offenders accountable and provides supportive services to victims of domestic violence. The bill will now head to the U.S. House of Representatives.

Today’s vote is a win for women and children who have experienced—or continue to suffer from—domestic violence. This bill will ensure victims receive the support and resources they need to recover, rebuild, and move forward with their lives. I hope the House will act swiftly to pass this bill, and put to an end to the cycle of abuse once and for all.
