WASHINGTON – House Republican Conference Chairman Jeb Hensarling (R-Texas) issued the following statement after the passing of Charles “Chuck” Colson, renowned Evangelical leader and founder of Prison Fellowship and the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview: 

“Chuck Colson was a remarkable example of the Lord’s redemptive power and he worked tirelessly to spread the message of Christ’s love and grace to everyone within his reach. His work helped improve the lives of thousands and has made our society a better place for generations to come. I have no doubt the organizations that Chuck devoted himself to will continue to serve our nation’s people as he returns home to the Lord he so faithfully served. 

“We have lost an American treasure, and I extend my deepest sympathies to his wife Patty and the rest of Chuck’s loving family. I will keep them in my prayers during this difficult time.”
