When you arrive at Joint Base Andrews, you must visit the HMO to receive counseling and guidance before entering into any written lease or rental/sales contract for housing.

Privatized Housing Unaccompanied Housing Housing in the Local Community

Privatized Housing
At Joint Base Andrews, military family housing is privatized. Liberty Park at Andrews owns the family housing and is responsible for maintaining, repairing, constructing and managing the community. In addition to your option to purchase and rent housing in the local community, you now may choose to live in privatized housing by signing a tenant lease agreement with Liberty Park at Andrews.

Community Amenities
Privatized housing is comparable to housing in the local community and provides a wide variety of amenities and support services.

Community features such as Playgrounds, Community Garden, Dog Park, Fitness Center, Community Center and Community Pool are just some of the amenities you will find at Liberty Park at Andrews.

As a resident of privatized housing, contact the Property Management Office to obtain more specific information on the services available at your location.

Paying Rent for Privatized Housing
Similar to living in the local community, you will sign a tenant lease agreement, for a one-year term. Your lease includes a military clause and a lease termination clause. You pay your monthly rent by authorizing an allotment of your BAH that is paid directly to the Property Manager. You will need to pay the pro-rated rent directly to the Property Manager upon commencement of your lease. The Tenant Lease Agreement includes all relevant rent payment terms and conditions.

Gas and Electric Utilities
At this location, homes in the community are not metered and your rent will include these utility costs, up to your full BAH amount. For more information about your utilities, please contact the Property Management Office.

Personal Property Insurance
Liberty Park at Andrews provides $20,000 personal property insurance, along with, $100,000 liability insurance at no cost to the resident. Upon commencement of your lease residents are encouraged to purchase an additional $20,000 in renters Insurance at the residents cost.

Before purchasing additional insurance, please consult the Property Management Office for more information about coverage.

School Information
Imagine Andrews Public Charter School opened its doors on August 22, 2011, on Joint Base Andrews, to provide a new education opportunity for students in Kindergarten through Grade 4. The mission of Imagine Andrews is to create a challenging learning environment for students in the Andrews community while addressing the specific needs of the military child. Through effective classroom instruction, students of Imagine Andrews will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become successful students and responsible citizens.
