"Delivering Excellence Every Day" Hello! My name is Brandon Neal, the newly appointed Director of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) Office of the Secretary for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). I am no stranger to Public Service and to disadvantaged and/or minority groups - having served the last several years on the senior management teams of both the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People and the National Office of the Democratic Governors Association. More recently, I was the Finance Director for African-American Affairs for Obama for America in both the Primary and General Elections and a Finance Director for the 56th Presidential Inaugural Committee. I have organized the OSDBU office into delivering three core competencies - that of advocacy, outreach, and unifications services provided. The results intended with these lines of business tie directly into the accomplishment of our strategic goals - to encourage and assist the participation of disadvantaged, small, and preference-based businesses. My personal philosophy is that you deserve respect and the highest level of professionalism in receiving assistance, as well as answers to your questions of how to successfully market and do business with the U.S. DOT. We have developed publications to encourage, stimulate, promote, and better prepare you to compete for, obtain, and manage transportation-related contracts and subcontracts. We also provide management and technical assistance, as well as specific financial assistance for transportation-related projects.
