We will determine what policies and procedures the Department has in place for giving first priority to the location of new offices and facilities in rural areas, as directed by the Rural Development Act of 1972. We will also determine if the Department adhered to established policies and procedures when locating new facilities. This audit is required by the FY 2003 Omnibus Appropriations Act.
