Colonel James K. EdenfieldColonel James K. Edenfield is the Commander of the 165th Airlift Wing (AMC), Georgia Air National Guard at Savannah International Airport, Georgia. He manages an operation of 1,400 personnel, eight C-130 H2 aircraft, one C-130E aircraft, and assets valued in excess of $317 million.

Col. Edenfield graduated from the University of Georgia and received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1985. He is a command pilot with over 5300 total flying hours in T-37, T-38, C-141B, C-130E/H2 and E-8C aircraft. Full Bio

CMSgt Hewshal S. ThorntonChief Master Sergeant Hewshal S. Thornton is the Command Chief of the 165th Airlift Wing (AMC), Georgia Air National Guard, Savannah International Airport, Georgia. He is the focal point for the commander, and exercises general leadership for all enlisted programs, personnel and issues within the organization. He also manages the Professional Military Education programs, the Senior Non -Commissioned Officer selection and promotion programs and serves as the Functional Manager for the Wing First Sergeant Program. Col. Rainer "Speedy" GomezColonel Rainer G. "Speedy" Gomez is the commander for the 165th Operations Group, Georgia Air National Guard.

Colonel Gomez graduated from The Citadel and received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps in 1983. Colonel Gomez is a master navigator with over 5000 total flying hours in T-37, T-43, B-52G and C-130E//H2 aircraft. Full Bio

Photo of Gen. Frank GrassGeneral Frank J. Grass serves as the 27th Chief, National Guard Bureau and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In this capacity, he serves as a military adviser to the President, Secretary of Defense, National Security Council and is the Department of Defense's official channel of communication to the Governors and State Adjutants General on all matters pertaining to the National Guard. He is responsible for ensuring that the more than 470,000 Army and Air National Guard personnel are accessible, capable and ready to protect the homeland and to provide combat resources to the Army and Air Force.
