Don't Feed the Deer

Even if the people aren’t, the deer here are loving the snowy weather the great Inland Northwest has to offer. Here’s a photo of a doe wandering around base last week during an awesome snow day. Remember, do not feed the deer. By feeding these animals, you are encouraging them to not fear humans, thereby increasing the likelihood that they get hit by cars and also may become protective of their y...oung and defend them quite violently. If you encounter someone feeding the wildlife, do not approach them -- gather as much information as you can and report it to security forces at 247-5493 or 247-5494. Direct any questions to the natural resources manager, Steve Selser at 247-2313. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Eralandez Young)
