THIRTEEN U.S. FIRMS TO PARTICIPATE IN IDEX 2013 IN ABU DHABI, U.A.E.
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Commerce’s Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) today announced that 13 U.S. companies will display products at the OTEXA-sponsored Sample Booth at the International Defense Exhibition Show & Conference (IDEX 2013) from February 18-21, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
IDEX 2013, a biennial show, is the largest tri-service defense exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa Region. The Middle East and North Africa offer many opportunities for American-made high-tech and military textiles. In 2012, total U.S. exports of textiles and apparel to the Middle East region were $520 million, an increase of 9 percent from the exports in 2011.
“This important Middle East-focused show is an excellent opportunity to showcase American textile firms and products,” said Kim Glas, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Textiles and Apparel. “This is OTEXA’s second time bringing exhibitors to this show and more than 40 percent of our participating companies are new to the market.”
Participating companies include:
- BondCote Corporation – Pulaski, Va.
- Burlington Worldwide – Greensboro, N.C.
- Combat Medical Systems – Fayetteville, N.C.
- ForceProtector Gear – San Fernando, Calif.
- KDH Defense Systems – Eden, N.C.
