Commerce Under secretary FranCisco J. SÁnchez Delivers Remarks at District Export Council Conference
Highlights the importance of the expanding trade between the United States and Canada
WINDSOR, Ontario, Canada – Francisco Sánchez, Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, delivered remarks today at the International District Export Council (DEC) Conference in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Sánchez highlighted the importance of expanding trade between the United States and Canada, and how President Obama’s National Export Initiative (NEI), aimed at doubling exports in five years, compliments the already successful economic ties between the two countries.
Sánchez also noted that District Export Council’s are part of a system that can underpin the national export platform that the country needs to build to increase exports that create jobs. “DEC’s throughout the country already are essential to local businesses and have shown how exports will influence the bottom line,” Sanchez said. “Together the DECs and the International Trade Administration’s lineup of domestic and international offices constitute the network upon which we can construct a national export strategy that allows us to reset the American economy for the future.”
