Mission Statement: The 97th Military Police Battalion prepares tactical Military Police units for rapid deployment for combat operations and other contingency operations in support of III Corps and Forces Command. The 97th MP Battalion provides uninterrupted force protection/community assistance to Fort Riley. The 97th Military Police Battalion maintains liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and supports installation contingency operations.

Military police say farewell to military working dog
A Soldier with the 97th MP Bn. pays his respects to Sgt. 1st Class Hary during his memorial ceremony March 15 at the K9 section’s kennels. The military working dog was laid to rest on Feb. 1 after a life of loyal service to Fort Riley and the surrounding communities.
