Andrew “Buzz Jackson” Reninger, radio host on Tucson’s KiiM 99.5 FM radio station, gives the thumbs-up from the back seat of a U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds F-16 Fighting Falcon on the flight line here March 19. Winner of the Academy of Country Music Medium Market Personality of the Year award, Buzz was selected by the Thunderbirds to receive a media flight. Radio coverage of his flight advertised the base’s first air show in three years. Thousands of spectators were welcomed to the base for an up-close look at 20 military and civilian aerial demonstrations, 118 aircraft ground displays and 60 non-flying ground displays.
