Database of NIJ-Funded Projects

On this page find:

Overview and Getting Started

We have launched a new database of NIJ-funded projects. The database that provides detailed information, including descriptions, for each funded project.

The database can present awards by fiscal year, originating solicitation, awardee organization, state, county and congressional district.

Find projects funded in fiscal years:

For years prior to 2007, the lists are not complete.

Try our advanced search to find awarded projects by state, county and congressional district.

Notes on the Data

  • The data are provided by the OJP Grants Management System (GMS).
  • Projects funded under grants and cooperative agreements are included. Project funded under contracts and inter-agency agreements are not.
  • The data represent what applicants and program staff entered into GMS at the time of the award.
  • The description covers only the initial intent of the project. The scope and details of a research project may change over the life of the project. Any such changes are not reflected in the database.
  • The data are presented based on the fiscal year in which the award was made. The fiscal year runs from October 1 to September 30.
  • While data going back to fiscal year 1993 are included, for any year prior to fiscal year 2007 the lists may not be complete.

From any result screen, you can select:

  • Award Number to see detailed information, including a description, for that award.
  • Awardee to see other awards received by that entity.
  • Solicitation Title to see all awards under that solicitation.

For a printable version of any result screen, select the "Export to: PDF" link, which precedes each table.
