This infographic,  posted on Pinterest by research group McKinsey and Company, contrasts the differences between the locations where tablet and smartphone users say they conduct various activities on their devices.  A quick glance shows that smartphone user activities are conducted predominately on the go while tablet user activities are conducted mostly at home.

While more tablet use occurs in the home, nearly a third of tablet users say they complete activities both at home and away. This demonstrates that a significant minority are using tablets on the go.

As tablet use continues to become a larger part of the mobile landscape, users will increasingly use these devices anytime, anywhere. The data reminds us why government agencies need to continue to create anytime, anywhere contexts to serve all mobile users regardless of device.
